Do You See What I See?

My plan worked brilliantly. I hit the road and drove a bazillion miles again.... just filling up some voids. I spent Easter with my kids/grandkids.. then off to my Parents where I cared for them in a record breaking 6 hours of cleaning cooking and chatting. I drove even further to my Sis and kids, to get my fix there too. I did the cemetary twice just to tell Jamie what I was up to, and thought maybe he could help out? I figured if I just kept driving to my needs, I would be.... OKAY. I just feel wierd.
I did come home feeling a bit stronger, a little "fed" so to speak. Its kinda like that tulip to the left....change channel...

The stretch between the coast and valley is breathtakingly beautiful in spring. Since they are widening the James Dean Highway there, it takes a long time and a great deal of patience to get through the construction work. It helps to have some licorice Jelly Bellies, and a camera. ( Oh, and Jamies Playlist in the CD player.)The rolling hills are alive with color.. its an amazing drive... Theres just got to be a quilt in here somewhere right? So I guess I see Moss green in my stash buiding excercises when I get back to them...
I have a few shots for you, and later I'll get other camera unloaded and bore you with kids:::wink:::

Wow G your pictures are gorgeous! My kids and I had planned to go out to the Fresno area this week but Continental wanted 50K air miles per seat...I just plain do no that many miles. I had enough for 2 at 25k and was more than willing to pay for the 1 seat. My friend told me that it is unbelievably gorgeous by his ranch...now I can see it here! Thanks for sharing.

Please bore me/us with more pictures.

For real it is:) There are a few hundred miles between the central valley and where I live that sports these beautiful sites in the spring and early summer. I am surrounded by these rolling hills that change color almost monthly, (this being the bestest time of year eh)
I especially love one home on a hill in San Luis Obispo we affecionatly call the SMURFF MANSION, that rivals the Hearst Castle gardens!
Soon, the heat of summer in that passage will turn dark green, nearly brown for lack of water :(
But just when u think all is doomed from heat, you hit the coastline and an abundance of color again!
The poppies, of course, are as prolific as the Oleanders in California. They are everywhere, and gorgeous.

The flowers are really beautiful. I'm so glad the road trip was helpful (or distracting).

It's funny but I'd forgotten that after my father-in-law died I went on a 2 week road trip because I just needed to be somewhere else.

I had taken care of him in our home for the last several months before he died and when he was gone, it was just too hard to walk into the room and not find him there. I hadn't even remembered how helpful it was to me to just leave for a while until I read your post. I drove from Atlanta to FL to visit Deb, then to my sister -in -law on the other coast of FL, to Virginia to see my mom and finally ended up back at home.

Take care!

I see that it's time for a road trip! We'll be heading to SLO in a couple of weeks for Collin's orientation at Cal Poly. I'll definitely bring extra batteries and an extra memory card for the camera!
